HILARY SWANK, THE ‘FACE’ OF INSOLENCE, WAS NOTHING BUT GRACIOUS AT THE SPA AT NORWICH INN

NORWICH, Conn. – She may be the “face” of Insolence, the new perfume by Guerlain, but Hilary Swank was nothing but gracious when she stayed at The Spa at Norwich Inn several months ago during her advertising photo shoot for the fragrance.

When the Oscar-winning actress checked into the spa’s Terrace Suite on a Friday night, she apologized for her lateness to the massage therapist and said she could cancel the service and go home to her family. But the therapist said she was happy to stay.

Swank, a highly-ranked gymnast in high school who underwent strenuous physical training for her role as a boxer in the movie Million Dollar Baby, was familiar with massage techniques for aching muscles and made one smart, special request. She asked the therapist to lower the height of the table, which would give the therapist more room to deliver a deep-tissue massage.

Swank’s advertising campaign for Insolence began in Europe and has begun to appear in American beauty magazines. The fragrance and its name were chosen to attract younger women to the venerable House of Guerlain.
