THE SPA AT NORWICH INN UNVEILS 10 NEW TREATMENTS, THREE NEW PACKAGES
FOR SPRING 2007
Men and teen girls get their own new packages
NORWICH, Conn. - A teen-age girl wails to a friend, "My mother doesn't trust me
NORWICH, Conn. - The award-winning Spa at Norwich Inn has introduced 10 new spa services this spring - from "Nirvana," a medley of exotic Ayurvedic practices, to a manly "Man Handlers" manicure or pedicure for the growing men's spa market, and a raft of new services to please teen-age girls.
While the spa's clientele historically has mostly been women, female guests have been saying, "Do you have something more for my husband?" Or "Can my teen come here?"
Men can now look forward to the "Real Men Do Spa" package, priced at $210. It includes the choice of a 50-mnute Swedish massage or a Men's Energizing Facial; the choice of a "Man Handler" Manicure or Pedicure; a haircut and style, lunch in Kensington's restaurant and full use of the spa facility for the day, including sauna, steam room, whirlpool, relaxation room, fitness center, robe slippers and locker room.
The new "Teen Spa Choice Award" package, priced at $175, includes one fitness class; the choice of a Maxin' and Relaxin' Swedish Massage or Teen "Put Your Best Face Forward" Facial; the choice of a Tip to-Toe Body Glow, Fab Feet Pedicure or Material Girl Manicure; lunch in Kensington's Restaurant, and full use of the spa facility for the day. Teens must be 14 or older to receive spa services, and a parent must be on hand for supervision.
"Our new treatments reflect what guests want us to offer," said Spa Director Betty Loiacono. "The Personal Prescription Plan is a collaboration between the guest and massage therapist that can include a combination of deep tissue, sports, phytotherapy or hot stone massage. For example, a guest may not want an entire massage of deep tissue work. He or she might want it in the neck and shoulders to work out the kinks, and then have the therapist switch to a gentler form of massage for the rest of the body." The 80-minute treatment costs $240.
All treatments are designed to be healing and therapeutic for guests, rather than to follow a popular trend, she added. "Our Teen Body Polish, for example, won't aggravate sensitive teen skin, and it finishes with a scent that teen girls like - a spritz of our private-label Apricot Mist."
The third new package is The Ultimate Day of Beauty. Priced at $300, it includes an 80-minute Caviar Facial, choice of a New England Foliage Manicure or Pedicure; a professional Make-up Application Service, lunch in Kensington's Restaurant and full use of the spa facility.
