JAMES BOUCHER HIRED AS DIRECTOR OF SALES AT THE SPA AT NORWICH INN
NORWICH, Conn. – James A. Boucher, a seasoned hotel executive with experience at AAA Four Diamond and Mobil Four Star properties, has joined The Spa at Norwich Inn Director of Sales.
“We’re delighted to welcome Jim Boucher to head our sales team,” said John G. O’Shaughnessy, general manager of The Spa at Norwich Inn. “His background with the luxury Westin and Starwood hotel brands and his experience at The Delaney House, a Mobil Four Star restaurant and catering facility in Holyoke, Mass., are a very good fit for The Spa at Norwich Inn’s luxury market for corporate meetings, executive retreats, weddings and special events.”
Boucher comes to The Spa at Norwich Inn from the Sturbridge Hotel and Conference Center in Sturbridge, Mass., where he was director of sales and marketing for a 233-guestroom hotel with over 30,000 square feet for meetings and special events. During those years, he also served on the Board of Directors of the Worcester County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
From 2001 to 2002 he was director of catering and convention services at The Westin Providence, R.I., a Starwood hotel.
At the Delaney House from 2000 to early 2001, he was director of sales and marketing and was hired to assume the post of general manager for the new Country Inn and Suites Holyoke that was being built to complement the Delaney House.
He worked earlier in his career at the Warren Conference Center & Inn in Ashland, Mass, the Radisson Hotel & Conference Center in Cromwell, and at properties managed by the Fine Hotels Corporation of Wellesley Mass. and the Interstate Hotels Corp. of Pittsburgh.
Boucher graduated magna cum laude from Bryant College in Smithfield, R.I. In 1988, earning a bachelor of science degree in business administration, hotel, restaurant and institutional management. During his career he has attended advanced training seminars and certification programs provided by Radisson, Marriott, Holiday Inn, Starwood Hotels & Resorts and The Disney Institute.
Boucher resides in Holland, Mass., with his two sons.
