THE SPA AT NORWICH INN
THE "BEST OF NEW ENGLAND"
Special 70th Anniversary Issue of YANKEE
Reveals the Best of the Region Today
NORWICH, Conn - The Spa at Norwich Inn today announced it was named "The Best Destination Spa in New England" in the September 2005 Special 70th Anniversary Issue of YANKEE Magazine.
"For 70 years, YANKEE's passion to uncover the exceptional in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont found an enthusiastic audience," said Michael Carlton, editor of YANKEE Magazine. "In celebration of YANKEE's 70th anniversary, we offer readers the things we cherish as the 'Best of New England' today. The Spa at Norwich Inn is superlative."
Titled "101 Things You'll Love About New England," YANKEE's 27-page celebration of the region's finest reveals the people, places, establishments and idiosyncrasies that distinguish it today-from "The Best Chef in New England" to "The Best State Motto in New England."
"Yankee Magazine is the authentic voice of New England," said John G. O'Shaughnessy, general manager of The Spa at Norwich Inn. " We are delighted to have been recognized for this honor by a publication that is itself a New England icon.
The Spa at Norwich Inn is an intimate, 100-guestroom retreat. It is home to an elegant, world-class spa offering a blend of fitness programs, nutritional instruction and beauty and body treatments designed to restore and rejuvenate the mind, body and spirit. Guests are housed either in the 1930 Georgian Colonial inn building, or in villas with wood-burning fireplaces and balconies. It has been rated "Excellent" by the Zagat Guide to U.S. Hotels, Resorts and Spas for the past three years and has won awards from SpaFinder and Connecticut magazines. Numerous celebrities, including Regis Philbin, Gloria Estefan and Chris Rock, have visited the spa.
YANKEE's Special 70th Anniversary Issue also includes a moving look back and ahead by Editor-in-Chief Jud Hale, fall foliage excursions, autumn festivals and events the locals love; and the food, travel, and home coverage found in every issue. The public can purchase YANKEE where magazines are sold. Readers are invited to share their reactions to YANKEE's choices in a forum at YankeeMagazine.com.
