For Immediate Release
NORWICH, Conn. – The Spa at Norwich Inn has been named “Best Day Spa in Connecticut” for the 10th year in a row by a vote of the readers of Connecticut Magazine and has won its fifth “Best of the East” award from the readers of Meetings East magazine.
“I am delighted to announce these two awards and congratulate our employees, who work 365 days a year to deliver the kind of customer-focused service that wins top awards like these,” said John G. O’Shaughnessy, general manager of the 100-room hotel and resort spa.
The Connecticut Magazine Award was presented Sept 27 at a gala celebration in the Grand Pequot Ballroom at Foxwoods Resort Casino, where the magazine marked its 10th anniversary of its reader poll. The Spa was also recognized in the October issue of Connecticut Magazine, where its “gorgeous digs” as well as its new Ultimate Day of Beauty Package were cited as reasons the spa “continues to raise the bar” for Connecticut spas.
The Meetings East award was announced in the magazine’s August-September issue, which recognizes the best locations in the East for business retreats, meetings and conferences.
Awards are given on the basis of a poll of the magazine’s audience of meeting planners, who vote on the best facilities and services available in the East.
James A. Boucher, the spa’s director of sales, has also announced that the property has been chosen as one of the “Best Resort Conference Centers in Connecticut” by a poll of attorneys and law firms by the Connecticut Law Tribune, the state’s only weekly newspaper devoted to the latest news in Connecticut’s courts, law firms and legislature.
The Spa at Norwich Inn is an intimate, 100-guestroom retreat. It is home to an elegant, world-class spa offering a blend of fitness programs, nutritional instruction and beauty and body treatments designed to restore and rejuvenate the mind, body and spirit. Guests are housed either in the 1930 Georgian Colonial inn building, or in villas with wood-burning fireplaces and balconies. It was named “Best Destination Spa in New England” by YANKEE Magazine in 2005, Best Resort in Connecticut in 2006 in New England Travel & Life, and has been rated “Excellent” for the last five years in the Zagat Survey of U.S. Hotels, Resorts and Spas.
