Department: SALON
Pay range – Commission Based Compensation
Requires a flexible schedule based on business, client, and staffing demands.

  • Under the supervision of the Salon & Nail Supervisor, the stylist provides professional, high quality hair care services for clients.
  • The Stylist provides own service utensils including but not limited to uniform, curling iron, hairdryer, flat iron, shears, clippers, brushes, combs and clips.
  • Stylist is responsible to booking appointments, cashiering, collecting payment from client, encouraging retail sales, making a sales quota, cleaning, and when necessary, performing float duties in the Spa.
  • MUST have experience in and be proficient at performing up-dos.
  • Experience with Goldwell color preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of computers, copiers, fax, adding machines, calculators.
  • Must possess well-developed customer service techniques and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients.
  • High school diploma or GED as well as a beautician/cosmetician CT State License and a minimum of two to four years salon experience or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education is required.
  • Hospitality or spa experience preferred.

Department: F&B MANAGEMENT
Pay range – Salary Commensurate with Education and Experience

  • Responsible for oversight of the operational and financial activities of the Food and Beverage Department.
  • Provides hands-on support and guidance in both back and front of house operations as needed.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of policies and standards of the Food and Beverage Department.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and oral and written communication skills. Must have the ability to prepare and/or manage financial and/or staffing budgets, excellent written and verbal communications skills to prepare detailed correspondence and make presentations to senior management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts/Hotel Management as well as minimum 7 years combined experience as Executive Chef and Food & Beverage Director in similar operations or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Department: RESTAURANT

Pay range – Hourly, $15.69
Requires a flexible schedule. Evenings, Weekends and Holidays are required.

  • Assists in maintaining the quality, consistency, guest service, and sanitation of Restaurant and Bar area. Delivers all food from the kitchen and returns all dishes to the dishwashing station.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects or tools. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Fast paced environment where customer service is a must. The noise level is usually moderate.
  • Controls all check transactions for restaurant, room service; balances cash drawer, takes room service orders, delivers to room, and completes assignments as directed by Food and Beverage Management.
  • High school education or equivalent required. Ability to read/write English, to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and fellow associates.
  • Basic math skills. The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Regularly required to sit or stand for long periods up to 7 hours, walk (often up/down stairs), push carts, carry trays, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The repetitive use of a computer keyboard and touch screen is required.
  • Will be required to work in all areas of the property in a fast pace customer service environment. Will be exposed to all types of weather conditions and indoor temperatures.

Department: KITCHEN

  • Cleans according to local, state, and federal health code, all kitchen equipment, walls, ceilings, floors, restaurant flat and plate ware and empties trash containers.
  • Grammar school, training provided.
  • Organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Able to read and write English. Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Must have full and normal use of the entire body as it relates to physical labor.
  • Able to repeatedly lift, lower, pull and push up to 50 pounds at once.

Department: HOUSEKEEPING

Pay range – Hourly
As needed, weekends required.

  • Consistently performs laundry duties under the direction of the Housekeeping Manager and Housekeeping Supervisor.
  • Adheres to all Norwich Inn & Spa Policies and Procedures.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
  • Attends all required meetings.
  • Completes special department projects as assigned.
  • Reports maintenance issues, of furniture, property and/or equipment to Supervisor
  • Participates in required training.
  • Empties and sorts soiled linen from spa chute, rooms, and villas.
  • Washes, dries, presses, folds, stacks, and distributes all laundry.
  • Loads and unloads washers and dryers.
  • Keeps work area neat and tidy.
  • Sweeps and mops laundry floors.
  • Knowledge of and ability to operate laundry equipment.
  • Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.
  • Prior experience in hotel laundry preferred but not required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate at a level necessary to read and follow instructions.
  • Able to lift up to 40lbs.
  • Position requires extended periods of standing, walking, sitting, and writing.
  • The laundry at the Spa at Norwich Inn is a fast-paced work environment, which requires an ability to quickly move from one task to another, and frequently requires bending, lifting, pulling and pushing.

Department: SPA TREATMENT
Pay range – Hourly Commensurate with Education and Experience
Varied schedule to include weekends, holidays and weekday evenings.

  • Under the supervision of Spa Management, the incumbent will perform massage therapy and will be trained to perform other spa body treatments including but not limited to hydrotherapy, body wraps, exfoliation treatments, hot stone treatments, etc. General knowledge of spa operations, equipment, products and procedures are essential.
  • Must be currently licensed as a Massage Therapist in the State of Connecticut. National certification a plus.
